The Monument
The Monument is a large double pentagon with five black granite panels. The first panel has Chapter 3, Verses 1-8 from Ecclesiastes.
The Statue

The bronze statue is a slightly larger than life-size sculpture cast in bronze of a World War II Soldier in a kneeling position. The soldier has a M-1 Rifle in hand with his helmet on a 6-ft base.
The Honor Walk-Way
The Honor Walk-Way honors all military personnel. It is flanked by the POW/MIA flag, the Louisiana State flag, and St. Landry Parish flag. The flag of the United States of America is located in the center of the Honor Walkway. The United States Flag is sponsored by Woodmen Life Charter 47.
The St. Landry Parish Veterans Memorial is located on a beautiful 2.5-acre tract of land at
5348 Highway 182 South in Opelousas, Louisiana.
